Obama helping to train Russian troops

A joint U.S.-Russia military training exercise earlier this year is raising concerns on Capitol Hill that U.S. military cooperation will increase the threat posed by Moscow’s military to friends and allies in Europe.

The two weeks of military exercises in late May included sending 20 Russian troops to Fort Carson, Col., where they held joint exercises in what defense officials called “mountaineering familiarization and parachute” training.

A senior Senate aide said of the exercises: “While I grant that military familiarization does not necessarily confer improved capabilities, Russia is not an ally, and the thing our real allies most fear are small-scale, territorial incursions in the north—like Poland and the Baltics—and the south—like South Ossetia in Georgia.”

The actions of Russia in Iran and Syria prove they are no ally.  But, they are also setting up a Navy base in Cuba which does not strike me as a friendly action, given their history.   The Obama administration is looking naive in their dealings with this adversary.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ... Bin Laden's concern about Zarqawi's remains
