If 9th circuit upholds case against Trump executive order it should be overturned in Supreme Court

Washington Post:
The federal appeals court that Trump hates the most will now hear arguments on his travel ban

A three-judge panel with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit will hear arguments Monday on whether to restore his controversial travel ban. The president has said the circuit has a “terrible record of being overturned.”
The contention that Trump's campaign statements can be used against him in a case has already been rejected by the US Supreme court when it upheld Obamacare.  Recall that Obama and the Democrats insisted that the individual mandate was not a tax.  Yet Chief Justice Roberts said it was and ignored their campaign statements.  It is hard to imagine a more high-profile case that rejected the very basis of the rulings against Trump's executive orders.

Even if this case did not exist, the court should reject the contention of the lower court because it would be disruptive of the normal give and take needed in a democracy to compromise and adjust one's opinions.  Elected officials need the ability to adjust their points of view.
