Clues in Cyberattack Point to Frequent Culprit: North Korea


Indicators are far from conclusive, but U.S. officials and private security experts say that North Korea-linked hackers are likely suspects in global ransomware attacks.
It would be consistent with that countries amoral approach to funding its illicit operations.  The Norks are probably feeling the bite of sanctions and restrictions by former ally China.  The fundraising could be limited by restrictions on the use of bitcoins.
