Is the Korean war finally formally ending?

Erick Erickson:
This is the big story of the day and the one you will want to keep your eyes on. CIA Director and Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo has been in North Korea meeting with their leadership. This, in turn, comes on the heels of reports that North Korea and South Korea are preparing to formally declare an end to the Korean War. All of this is a major advance and many will work overtime to make sure Donald Trump gets no credit. But the reality is I think Donald Trump deserves a great deal of credit.

The only reason we are having a radical shift in North Korea's position is because Donald Trump has refused to go along with the biennial shake down. Every few years, the North Koreans have rattled their sabers and threatened nuclear war. The Americans would get them to agree to a few concessions they would never keep, then would send them a bunch of aid.

President Trump has refuses to go along with the scheme. Additionally, he has revved up efforts to further shut off North Korea.
...
China has also finally been helpful in getting the Kim regime to see how counterproductive its belligerence has been.  Democrats who have been critical of Trump's handling of the Korean problem look wrong again.  Their policy of kicking the problem down the road and trying to give the Norks money did not work.  Tough negotiations look like it will work.
